Paid for the car behind me at a drive through. Stunned the employees as they said it was the most random act they'd ever seen. Really put me in the Christmas spirit. I need to do it every time I feel down!

I've done the same thing a few times. It's a lot of fun to watch in your rearview window as they try to figure out if they know you or what.

I was stopping by walmart to pick up some quick items. I shut my door and remembered I had forgotten my coupons. I turned to get back into my car without noticing a man pushing a cart back to the cart return. Not thinking much about it I rummaged through my car to find my coupons and once found I was headed back into the store. I thought I would grab a cart outside the store to help the poor cart return guy (because it was very bitter cold that evening). The only cart in the stall appeared to have garbage in it. I thought to myself, great someone left their garbage behind because they were to lazy to go throw it away themselves. After a second look, I realized that it wasn't a bag of garbage, it was a bad of merchandise. I looked through the bag and it had a very nice sweatshirt and a rather expensive video game. Included was a receipt that indicated that the merchandise was paid for with cash. I asked myself what would I want someone to do if I had left a package like that behind. Yes, I took the items back to the store and gave them to the customer service desk in hopes that the young man would call and he would sometime do the same for someone else.

I was catching a ride with my sister this morning, and i saw this poor kid crying. So i told her to stop, and i had asked him "whats wrong?" and he replied that he lost his mommy. I asked him where she went, and he replied with "i dont know...She was with me a few minutes ago" so i asked where he lived, and i rang the doorbell. His mother was home all along, and was m,issing her son, whom i was holding hands with. She thanked me, and bought me a hot chocolate this morning. I will never forget this.

Some friends of ours had a 20 year old daughter who had been married just one week when her liver died and she needed a transplant. They had Lynn on full life support so the parents were both off work so they could stay near their daughter who was in Barn's Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Even though times were hard for us, my husband scrapped together $2,000 and sent it to them anonymously, to help with their expenses.
Last week we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of her transplant. Not only did Lynn survive the traumatic ordeal but she has 2 beautiful children because of the generosity of the donor who died in a car wreck.
Oh, and her husband (of just one week) stuck around when many would have headed for the hills.

Aren't we cooled by the Christmas weather and warmed by its love? Children in the streets are indeed cooled but not warmed by any hug..
This Christmas, we should prepare ourselves to be like Christ..
Simple acts like donating my money.. or outreach programs have certainly helped the people affected by poverty..
but the best thing I did was to personally talk to them-like friends-and not like outcasts.
Maybe somehow, i warmed them. :)

Our house is on the Christmas Light list each year. Santa is on his sleigh from 6:30 till 9 each Saturday night from Thanksgiving till Christmas. We take pictures of each child who stops by and Santa sends an email to them. Santa has been stopping by for the last 4 years. Last weekend we had 300 photos to email out. We love it! I am now asking others to commit at least one random act of kindness if they appreciate receiving their email.
Thanks
