Well while searching the internet looking gifts for family, I came across an ad on kijiji. The ad said single mom looking for comforters& blankets and some used toys for her 2 young girls ages 9 and 11. Well I've never done something like this before but I responded and ask her what kind of beds do they have and what kinds of toys her girls would like and if she had a phone number for me to call her. She provided me with a phone number and I called her that day , she said her girls are without blankets and comforters they only have some thin fleece sheets on there beds and that they were into arts and crafts, movies and games. We went on talking for a bit more and she she told me that on there wish list would be a Nintendo DS that would be the all time gift for these girls, I guessed they must have asked her for it many times.

So me and my girlfriend went out shopping and I purchased everything on her wish list comforters, blankets, pillows, games, beads, movies and the Nintendo DS which is expensive but was on sale at a store near us and we had a gift card for that store so it really wasnt that must for us.

When we dropped of the gifts she was very humbled, when I showed her the Nintendo DS she started crying and thanked us very much, she sent an email later on that evening to us explaining how we lifted her spirits in her time of need and that when she is able she will pay it forward. For me thats what its all about lifting someone when there on hard times and maybe they will do the same to someone one day.

Thats my Christmas Story

Merry Christmas

I took my nieces and nephews to Six Flags Holiday in the Park last Firday. It was closing time and I promised them we would get hot chocolate before we left. There was a total of 7 of us and I wanted them all to get the souvenir cup with it. I saw this young lady standing behind an empty concession stand. I asked if she was still open and I could tell by her expression she did not want to say yes, but she did. I asked nicely for 7 hot chocolates in 7 souvineer cups. She graciously made our hot chocolates and rang up the total (not cheap). I handed her the money and then her boss asked if we were going to get free refills (free refills the day you buy it). Of course we were not since it was closing time. The boss for this concession gave us those hot chocolates for free. In turn I handed the young lady that helped us $20 and told her to keep it and to have a Merry Christmas. The smile on her face made it all worth while and she was in disbelief that someone randomly gave her money. We all left that experience smiling.

Instead of giving my students homework for the winter break, I asked them to perform a random act of kindness. One of my fellow teachers reported a couple days later that several of my students were fulfilling their random act of kindness by emptying the trash from each classroom. They explained that they wanted to secretly help the custodian so he could go home early that day. I wonder who else will be touched by my students who are taking up the challenge to perform one random act of kindness this season.

Bought a coworker's daughter a new coat for Christmas....because her Mom was having a hard time as a single Mom. We all take alot of things for granted, and we need to remember, there are alot of people out there who have nothing!!

Last saturday I was in the mall, waiting in the Kernals line
to buy some popcorn. The young fellow behind the counter was
extremely busy. You could tell he was hot and abit frazzeled from trying to fill the orders and move the line along quickly. When it came my time to pay for my order I told him
to put a beverage on my bill. When he asked what kind, I told him whatever you like. it is for you. The smile on his face was all the thanks that I needed.

The other day a little old lady was in front of me at the Grocery store purchasing her weekly bread, cheese, milk, and other essentials. She was having a hard time figuring out the debit card machine so the cashier took her card to try and help. After seeing the type of card it was the cashier, very boisterously, blurted out... "OH!! This is for FOOD STAMPS!" The little old lady was obviously mortified, and thus became even more flustered. After she ran the card there happened to be about $5 left owing. The old lady obviously didn't have it and after about a minute of digging through her purse I handed the cashier a 20 and told her to pay for the balance of her groceries. While I didn't think it to be anything much (I mean how easy is it to spend $5 and not think twice about it), but for this little old lady it was her bread for the week. She was SO thankful and didn't stop thanking me until I had left the store. I'm no rich man feeding the masses, no marter or saint performing acts of servitude, but such a simple act had such a profound impact on this one woman.

That was very sweet of you. Your R.A.K. brought me to tears. Everyone's mom and grandmother should be so kindly treated.

I remember in the summer I was walking through some park and little boy who was about 4 or 5 his mother had bought him a ice cream cone and just when he was about to take his first lick the scoop fell off of the cone so he started crying and so at that moment I felt sad for the little boy so I got him another ice cream cone his mom thanked me and the little boy gave me a hug and smiled.
