I saw a homeless man standing at an intersection and my heart went out for him. Everyone was passing him by and not even glancing his way. I was going into a restaurant drive thru and my thoughts were if he is still there when I come back through that intersection I will stop. Sure enough he was still there and the traffic light caught me so he was right outside my window. I rolled down my window and gave him some money and he said to me: "God Bless you....you are the first person that stopped since I've been standing out here. He patted my hand when he said God Bless You and I felt something run through me. It was as if I had touched the hand of Jesus. I had such a warm feeling go all the way through me that it brought me to tears as I pulled away. I knew I had done the right thing. I looked behind me as I mademy turn through the intersection and the car behind me also rolled their window down and gave the homeless man a few dollars also. I will never forget that feeling!

My brother was homeless once so I have experienced the pain of having a loved one out on the streets. It was one of the most difficult times in our families life. Thank God he is in his own home now and doing well. When I see a homeless person now on the streets my mind wonders what their situation is and what brought them to be homeless. Not every homeless person has family that cares about them. I know it was God's love for him and our love for him that helped him to realize he had to make the choice - we couldn't do it for him - he finally made the right choice and got off the streets and good things have happened to him ever since.

See. You influenced other people to do nice things. that is one of the nicest posts I have seen on this website.

I had a family member on the street for a year..He endured so much...now when I see a person on the street I stop and wish them Merry Christmas and give them a couple of dollars.
So many people think the people on the street are just lazy and should just get a job....but they all have their own stories on why they are there....They appreciate a smile, a cup of coffee even a little change..hopefully we are not there one day...

I volunteer as an English teacher at a local school of 6 grades in one single classroom. I started a collection to buy 17 bicycles for 17 very poor children from this very poor school in Los Destiladeros, Pedasi, Panama. These children will use these bicycle as a form of transportation to go to school everyday. Most of these kids have nothing at all and live in very poor shacks. I am going to surprise them with the bicycles for the school Xmas party which I am organizing on the second week of December 2011. I am still short $800.00 to achieve my goal, but I know I will get there.

I am 12 and a lot of kids my age will do any thing for money, but a few weeks ago I was at BJ's (the store) and a woman dropped a quarter from her wallet. I picked it up and my dad said to keep it, but I caught up with the woman and gave it back to her and she said, "Thank you very much".

I was standing in line at a convenience store the other morning. Two high school boys were paying for their morning biscuits and the machine would not take their ATM card. The line was backing up and they were embarrassed as it was declined a second time. As they came by me to put back their items I just told them to wait and I would get it for them. They were a little taken aback but replied with a smile and a thank you. I knew they were embarrassed so I never made a big deal about it just quietly paid for it and went on my way. It was not a big deal in the least but it made me feel a little happier as I began my workday. It is nice to do for others!!

11/20/2011 2:20:04 PM - Aliciana - Missouri

That is great that you helped those boys! Every small thing counts and i bet you made their day!
