12/16/2011 1:07:04 PM - Ann - Sherburn, MN, USA

I have become friends with an elderly couple at my church. The older man has leukemia and is not able to get out much. When we had a xmas banquet at church I had a video guy tape people from church giving him a Merry Xmas greeting. When he saw the video he was so excited. His wife was very grateful.

This was a kindness done to me yesterday. I was in the grocery store trying to decide what to spend my last $5 on. When I finally got to the checkout with my few purchases the gentleman in front of me whispered something to the clerk then left. As I offered my $5 to the clerk he said the man in front of me had paid for my groceries. There really are kind people in the world. I have no idea how this living angel knew I needed the help. All I can say is a heartfelt thank you.

12/16/2011 7:51:43 PM - emilee - westvirginia

12/16/2011 8:24:05 AM. - Nancy - Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada

Met two young men at Winnipeg Harvest (our City's Food Bank) Heard their story. That they were traveling across Canada in the winter. Mainly walking, hitchhiking, tenting outside with some canoeing. I offered my storage room as a relief from the cold. But also Winnipeg Street can be dangerous. These are great kids. It would be great if when they started on their journey again that people would help them get to their destination - the Pacific Ocean. One has started to work to get money - the other is working for experience on a horse farm. I hope to keep you posted. Let's keep their Xmas DREAM alive

Though we haven't got a lot of cash to spare, this year our family is dropping change into the Salvation Army buckets as often as possible. Even pennies and dimes add up, we call it "Start with a Little Change." It has been fun to watch the kids raid our couch crevices, the car, and various containers of coinage, in order to give to those who need it more than we do.

12/16/2011 5:12:11 PM - Ruthie - Bedford, IN

Good for you! As a volunteer bell ringer for the Salvation Army, I totally agree with you about the pennies and dimes adding up. You can't imagine how much money that would be if each person that entered that place of business would give a nickel or dime. Wow! Love your spirit. God bless you and your family. You are teaching those you love the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you.

I was a walker in a parade and our float was at the back of the parade and there was this girl with nothing! (No candy, no flyer) So I gave her candy and her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree!

12/16/2011 4:44:33 AM. - Barbara - Wellington Fl.

Last week after returning from a trip, we stopped to do a little Christmas shopping. We saw a lady looking quite distressed and she ran to us a asked how to get to the Ft. Lauderdale Cruise Port. We were in Miami, some 50 miles away and so we were confused as to what to tell her. She had flown in to Fl. the night before from Germany, and the idea that the Port of Miami was called the Ft. Lauderdale cruise port. She only had a few hours to make it to her cruise ship and was quite worried how she was going to get to a port 50 miles away. We decided we had done enough shopping and got her and her luggage to our car and drove her the 50 miles and saw to it that she got on her ship on time. Her English was very borken, but she thanks us and wanted to know what she could do for us. We told her what Christmas means to us (the birth of Christ) and that she could pray for us and have an enjoyable cruise. With tears in her eyes, she kissed us both and got on her cruise ship with time to spare. What a Blessing that God would bring her to us in that busy Mall, as we knew exactly were she needed to go, and we got to meet a lovely German lady.
