Actually it was my sister & brother in law in Pensacola Fla. (Pat & Danny)
Danny goes to the corner of Fairfield & Pace Blvd. every Sunday
Morning to get a paper from the man who stands at the red-light selling
Newspapers. They said he is a friendly man & Danny always talks to him
& Pat has went with him before and met the newspaper man. For Christmas my sister Pat got several goodies & put in a nice Christmas bag for Danny to give to the newspaper man. Danny said he was very happy about the gift. I was very proud of my sister & brother in law. Later they passed the corner & could see the bag of goodies sitting on the corner with the newspaper man.

We live in on a property with Gran and Grandad, their two daughters (me being one of them) who each have their two children living with them. This brings three generations together with the youngest just having turned 13 and the oldest just having turned 75. So Christmas lunch this year was going to be for 9 (one grandchild has a boyfriend). Grandad has come into contact in the last year or so with a mate he had at univarsity, both men now being retired. Grandad having planned for his retirement better than his mate.

Grandad decided that he would invite his mate for Christmas lunch, and so, after preparing the meal and driving across town to fetch our guest and driving him home at the end of the day - this was the email that was sent from our Christmas Day guest:

"Thank you SO much for giving me the best Christmas Day since the only one I've had with my own family for 50 years! I'm still glowing with pleasure and gratitude!
To be in a wholeseome, inter-generational family gathering like yours was a matchless tonic for body, mind and spirit.
With most grateful thanx and every blessing."

It feels good to have been a part of such a special day for our guest.

Maybe this will start a trend for us?

Wow that was wonderful. There's no Christmas like a family
Christmas & to share it with someone is very special. You
Could tell by the email your guest was very happy about it.

I love to shop at Aldi's. To get your shopping cart you have to put a quarter in the cart to retrieve it. When you are done shopping you take your cart back to the stall and get your quarter back. It is so fun to give your cart with the quarter still in it to the next person you see heading toward the cart stall. The smile on their faces is as if you gave them a million dollars and so is the feeling in your heart.
