Our youth group at church will be singing Christmas carols at the nursing home the first Saturday in December. We started this last year and it was well received by the residents living there. We can't wait to go back again this year.

We also take Christmas Cards and pass them out to the residents as we go by their rooms. Last year we even had a sweet older lady that lived their following with our group singing right along with us :)

For the entire month of December my two daughters and I pick out two people every day (they each choose one) that looks like they need a smile, and give them a candy cane with a little happy note we have written on it.

A friend lost her son this year. She posted on her facebook page she found a Christmas tree ornament in memory of him and could not afford to purchase it. I have ordered it will will place it on her doorstep, rind her doorbell and leave. No need for her to know where it came from. Thats what the holidays are all about. GIVING. Everyone have a Happy Holiday Season

What a wonderful thing to do, Christmas has to be sad when you have lost a loved one.

My son and his cub scout troop put flyers on neighboors doors to collect for a food drive. When we went back a few days later he was very disappointed that nobody left food to be picked up. So my 10 year old son was very upset that we had nothing to turn in and starting knocking on doors so that he would have something to turn in.

A homeless guy came up to me recently and asked for money, so I gave him some. I feel so bad for them, and if they decide to use the money for drugs, that is their choice, but at least this way they have some money to get to a shelter, or buy food if they want to. It hurts my heart to see homeless people, especially when the weather is cold, and everyone turns away and ignores them.

Kuddos to you for being non-judgemental :) That is really what it's all about...helping others and not attaching anything to it!!
