This week, I went to help at an organization for kids who don't have very much money. I donated gifts, helped clean up the studio, and attended their Christmas program.

Just helped an elderly neighbour to clear her cellar of water after last nights floods. She was in her dressing gown and boots, and we were just going past into town, so the kids and I piled out of the car and scoopped, swept and swooshed all the water out of her cellar and mopped up the excess.

A young mother and her child were at the hospital and couldn't get a ride home. She only had her debit card and no machine in sight. I paid for her cab and wished her a Merry Christmas

well, baby steps are are a start. Perhaps you could pray the Holy Spirit enlighten you to where you can understand what would really help. After that inspiration you could deciede wether you could do it or not.

While driving for almost an hour I was listening to a radio station that had a contest where they would pick a name and that person (who was hopefully listening) had an hour to call in and win her prize which was 2 tickets anywhere around the world. She had ten minutes left and was about to lose her prize. I took her name down and the radio station's phone number. She lived in the town next to me. I looked up her name online. Found her number. Called her and let her know she had ten minutes to call in. Gave her the phone number to call. She won!

Instead of donating to a charity organization my siblings and I gather our money, insert it in a Christmas card and give it to a family in great need. There are so many people who need help. Every year we pick a new family.

I'm wrapping stocking stuffer type trinkets (from $1 store / some clearance winter gear I have been hoarding from last year/ things I contemplating regifting or returning etc... ) also bought bunch of scratch-its lottery tix and cider brew to randomly hand out this evening to people who are alone in bar, homeless people hanging out at laundry mats, maybe hit VA home.... who knows where evening will take me but sometimes the kindness/appreciation of strangers gives us hope when familiar faces turn their backs... Fact is the people who often need most help do not benefit from all these charities that we donate to. regardless of why or who or how we end up in need, wouldn't it be cool if someone on xmas handed you lottery ticket and you won???? i win cuz i rather be secret santa helper meeting new people than stuck home alone
