I made crocheted Mickey and Minnie Mouse hats for people to give as gifts and in lieu of them paying me for making the hats i asked them to make a donation to an animal shelter or the Salvation Army (they would benefit more from the $$ than I would).

With my birthday being in November, I asked my family to buy me children's' gifts that I could give to a co-worker who was struggling to provide presents for his children. It was also a valuable lesson in sharing for my grandchildren who actually picked out the gifts. That was my best birthday present ever!

Melissa,

What a wonderful example you are setting for your grandchildren! Even better, your whole family is involved in such a generous, unselfish act of charity! This is exactly the right way to "pay it forward!" Have blessed Christmas and a joyous new year!

Wishing ppl Merry Christmas as they get on or off of city bus. Also; bringing neighbors home from grocery. This reminds me of brighter times when you didn't have to be afraid to speak to oneanother. A person should treat others how you want to be treted.
