I was touched by an elderly man (via work) that was unable to pay his water bill until next month due to having to wait for his next SS check. I could not bear to think of him without water! I was able to facilitate his water bill being paid without him knowing it, so he will not have his water turned off. : ) It's the little things... May God bless us, everyone!

A couple days ago I was working at a chain department store when a young mom came in to exchange a coat her son received as a gift - from his social worker. Because we had to go up a size, it meant going from the little boys department to the big boys department which also meant an increase in pricing. She didn't have the money to pay the price difference. I picked out a nice, very warm coat for her son which cost more than the one she was exchanging. She gave me a very confused look and I told her that every child should be warm in the winter and that I wanted to pay the difference to make sure her son was warm. We both got teary and gave each other a hug... then we picked out some nice warm mittens too.

I was lucky to have a $100 bill in my pocket saving it for something special ,when I saw it:) I was at Walmart and a clerk started telling me of all her woes and how she had lost faith in the goodness of God:( I absolutely felt compelled to give her my special $100 bill:) I can't begin to tell you how grateful she was and she felt I was an angel:) I pray it restored her faith in our Heavenly Father and peace entered her spirit:) I saw her a couple months later and said she was able to visit her daughter in another city whom she had not seen in a long time due to no money! I have not seen her again:) blessings my friends:) life is full of difficulties but our Heavenly Father is always there for all of us:)

Even though I gave her lots of presents, the special gift I gave her was a special Christmas Tree Bulb to go on the tree. She is only two now but people forget she will have FOND memories of this when she is older. She gets a special bulb every year with the years date on it. REMEMBER, they are only little once and you cannot go back in time. Merry Christmas

My second Mom, went home to Jesus September 2, this year, I will miss her as much as my real Mom. I really got to thinking about what we all take for granted in our lives, and being a cook in this half-way house I wondered? How many of these men and women have families they can't be with this Christmas, So I decided to give up my cellphone for anyone to use and call home or anywhere this Christmas. Its a small gift, but I hope we all remember those we have in our lives and those we will miss. Merry Christmas everyone. Peace!

It was such a simple thing, I thought. Seeing an old friend in the drug store, saying her name and simply embracing her in a hug - a long one! And telling her that I loved her and kept her always in my prayers. After she left, one of the sales people came up to me and said: "that was so beautiful and so touching!" It was then that I realized how often in my own life a simple hug has given me hope and courage and how wonderful it is to feel loved.

It's a few days before Christmas and I went to get my hair cut yesterday! While waiting I saw a man and wife walk in, He was walking with a cane although he was a farly young man. They called him to the chair and I noticed the women started to cry. I asked if she was alright and she said chemo therapy is making his hair fall out. As they cut more of his hair off I tried to comfort her by telling her about different people that I knew that survived cancer but she just shook her head and said he wasn't doing well. As I got up to leave I wished her a Merry Christmas and I've never done this before but I hugged her even though she was a complete stranger and also started to cry. I hope she knows I'm still thinking of her and her husband and will be including him in my prayers. It made me feel good to comfort her as she watch her husband but I hope it also made her troubles a little lighter just to know someone cared.
